What makes a good fit with our school
We believe that every child can benefit from the unique learning environment provided by the Family School. Parents who understand the value of a whole-child learning model, who are eager to participate in their child's education, and who value being a part of our close-knit community are encouraged to apply.
As the Head of School, I meet with each prospective family personally and discuss the needs of their child. We visit the classrooms so that you can see the teachers interact with the children, and ask questions about teaching methods and subject matter. After the tour we usually have light refreshments and the chance to talk at length about any other questions you may have. I enjoy meeting so many parents from our community and look forward to your visit.

Affording independent education
Tuition assistance is available for students in Blue Door (Kindergarten) through Purple Door South (Grade 5). We encourage all families who feel that paying full tuition for The Family School would be a financial stretch to apply for tuition assistance. Tuition assistance decisions are independent of admission decisions, and are based solely upon demonstrated need. Steps towards admission
1) Come out to the campus for a tour and to talk with the Head of School, Julianne Tullis-Thompson.
2) Submitt an application with the $50 nonrefundable application fee.
3) Preschool students must schedule an observation visit to ensure the best placement. The parent and child will spend one hour in Green door. Please include this in your personal timeline.
