Welcome Grant and Bear! Have you had a chance to meet Grant and Bear? We are so excited to welcome them to our community!

Grant is our new PE teacher, Assists in Red Door, does lunch duty and co-leads our After School program. He lives in Lompoc where he played rugby and football in highschool. He's an all around sports guy with extensive knowledge of  baseball, basketball and soccer Grant enjoys surfing, riding his long board and playing soccer. He even finds time for some video gaming. He's currently studying at Alan Hancock college with plans to transfer and pursue a degree in business management.

Bear is our new music teacher. He attended Green Door and Yellow Door (kindergarten) at The Family School before attending Solvang Elementary School, Dunn Middle School and Santa Ynez Valley Union High School.  After High School, he pursued his love of music studying music in college and now teaches private lessons, plays in several bands, runs an active recording studio in Buellton and partners with his father making custom guitars.  Incidentally, Bear's father, Greg, built the additions to the current Purple Door building back in the early 80s.  Bear has fond memories of his time here and is happy to be here to give back to the school and the kids.

All School Hike: Friday, Feb 22, 9-noon is our next all school hike. What do you need to remember to bring?

  • GOOD walking shoes
