MY PATH TO TEACHING
I earned my A.A. in Early Education from Los Angeles Valley College, my B.S. in Child Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and my M.A. in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena. I have always loved learning from children and supporting their natural curiosity.

WHAT SHAPED ME
My years working with young children have shaped the way I teach. I believe children learn best when we pay attention to what interests them and use those interests to guide their learning. Every day brings something new to discover, and I love being a partner in that process.

WHY SYV FAMILY SCHOOL
I love being part of a community where children’s ideas, interests, and play are valued. SYV Family School gives me the opportunity to observe what children are curious about and then build on those interests with activities, materials, and information that make learning meaningful.

IN MY CLASSROOM
I hope children feel comfortable being themselves, excited to explore, and confident in sharing their ideas. I love watching children’s play unfold and finding ways to support and extend their learning through hands-on experiences.

FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn, along with books by Jan Brett and Leo Lionni. I love stories that connect with children’s experiences and invite them to imagine, explore, and see the world in new ways.

OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
I love to garden. There is something wonderful about putting a seed or plant into the ground and watching it grow into flowers, vegetables, and beauty. I love the smell of the earth and mulch, discovering interesting critters, getting my hands dirty, and getting some exercise while creating something beautiful.
