MY PATH TO EDUCATION
My passion for lifelong learning led me to education, where I discovered a deep love for collaborating with students, faculty, and school leaders. I studied at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on education. I have spent the past 13 years working in private schools as an administrator, leading development, admissions, communications, events, and marketing.
WHAT SHAPED ME
I love being a storyteller, and as Director of Communication, I get to share the magical moments that happen every day at SYV Family School. My professional experiences have shaped my belief in the power of authentic storytelling, strong relationships, and mission-driven communication to build connected and thriving school communities.
WHY SYV FAMILY SCHOOL
I believe in the power of small, connected communities to make a lasting impact on children’s lives. SYV Family School cares deeply about each child, not just academically, but as whole people. I especially value how social-emotional learning is woven into every part of the school experience.
IN MY ROLE
I hope students, families, and colleagues always feel supported and know they have a teammate in me. It truly takes a village to raise kind, curious, and confident children, and I want everyone in the SYV Family School community to feel valued and connected.
FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip C. Stead
OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
Spending time with my family is my top priority. We love being outdoors - hiking, biking, exploring new trails, and spending time at the beach. When I have a little quiet time to myself, I enjoy trail running, hiking, snowboarding, and going on dates with my husband.
