WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SYVFS
My kids are just starting at SYVFS and I already feel so grateful to be part of this community. SYVFS cares deeply about each child, not just their academics, but who they are as people. I love that social-emotional growth is woven into everything they do. I’m excited to watch my children learn, grow, and be supported in discovering their unique strengths.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
My passion for lifelong learning led me to work in education, where I discovered a deep love for collaborating with students, faculty, and school leaders. Prior to joining SYVFS, I served as Director of Communications at Archway Communities in Denver, CO, an organization committed to affordable housing and support services. Before that, I held leadership roles at Watershed School in Boulder, CO in admissions, development, and events, where I combined my passion for engaging stakeholders with strategic leadership to support the school’s mission and growth. I do what I do because I believe in the power of a small, connected community to make a lasting impact on children’s lives.
MY FAVORITE TEACHING MOMENT
My favorite moments are when I get to witness a child’s growth firsthand, whether it's a student stepping up as a leader, overcoming a challenge, or simply lighting up with curiosity. As an administrator, I may not be in the classroom every day, but I see the impact and importance of great teaching and strong relationships. Supporting educators and creating a space where students feel seen, safe, and inspired, is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
FUN FACT
I walked across America in 2006 from Delaware to California on the American Discovery Trail.
FAVORITE PLACE ON CAMPUS
My favorite place on campus is anywhere outdoors, whether it’s a quiet spot under a tree or a lively corner of the playground. It reminds me every day how important it is for kids to have room to explore, breathe, and just be themselves.
