MY PATH TO TEACHING
I currently study at SBCC. My mom, a preschool teacher for 30 years, inspired me to become an educator. Seeing her impact on students showed me the kind of teacher I want to be.
WHAT SHAPED ME
I started as a Teacher’s Assistant in my mom’s classroom at 18, then became a paraeducator, and later a Behavioral Analyst Technician. Each role challenged and educated me in ways beyond the classroom, shaping my understanding of students and learning.
WHY SYV FAMILY SCHOOL
I love the students, families, and colleagues here. Every day feels like summer camp in an enriching environment. SYV Family School equips students with both educational and life skills.
IN MY CLASSROOM
I hope students feel loved, heard, and appreciated. I emphasize emotional well-being and strive to teach responsibility, kindness, and respect.
FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
The Very Hungry Caterpillar – I’ve always loved caterpillars, and this story resonates with children’s curiosity and growth.
OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
I love cooking, experimenting with recipes, singing, playing piano, crocheting, and spending time with my pets: a cat, a border collie, and two rats. I also enjoy peaceful naps in the sun.
