MY PATH TO EDUCATION
I earned my Master’s in Education and California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from UCSB. During my graduate program, my research focused on how communication through cooperative play builds students’ sense of belonging. I studied how trust, empathy, and collaboration develop through peer interaction and how these relational skills support deeper learning. As I explored teaching opportunities, SYV Family School stood out as a community grounded in collaboration, trust, and whole-school connection - values that closely align with both my research and my personal philosophy of education.

WHAT SHAPED ME
Youth mental health has been a lifelong passion and was a major reason I entered education. I have always been deeply invested in supporting students’ social-emotional development and helping schools build cultures rooted in empathy, resilience, and belonging. In my leadership work, I prioritize systems that support emotional well-being, trust, and strong community relationships. I believe schools thrive when we care for the whole child and the whole community.

IN MY ROLE
I hope that students, families, and colleagues feel heard, respected, and supported. My goals are to build relationships rooted in trust, empathy, and integrity, and to create spaces where everyone feels confident, connected, and valued.

FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
The Harry Potter series - These books grounded me during a challenging time in my life and reminded me that perseverance, courage, and hope can lead to unexpected strength. And of course, a little magic always helps.

OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
I love spending time with my children, playing tennis, and being outdoors - whether at the beach or in the mountains. I also enjoy traveling, gardening, home projects, and learning new skills as a way to recharge and stay inspired.
