MY PATH TO TEACHING
I studied at Allan Hancock College and the University of Massachusetts Global. Being an older brother to six siblings inspired me to help and support those younger than myself. My experience as a basketball coach also inspired me to challenge students in a respectful and motivating way.
WHAT SHAPED ME
Being a teacher's aide, instructional assistant, childcare provider, tutor, coach, and big brother has shaped my teaching style. Over my 10+ years in education, I’ve had the pleasure of learning under many teachers across a variety of grades.
WHY SYV FAMILY SCHOOL
I love the genuine people who work here. Everyone is committed to making a difference in students’ lives, which ultimately shapes the future of our world.
IN MY CLASSROOM
I hope students feel accepted for who they are, learn to love learning, and discover the value of learning through collaboration and hands-on application.
FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
The Giving Tree – I love how it emphasizes the impermanence of life and the relationship we have with nature. It’s also symbolic of aging and learning to appreciate what we have.
OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
I enjoy golfing, attending sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.
