MY PATH TO TEACHING
I studied at UCSB. My love for learning and supporting students, along with inspiration from my mother and great-grandfather (a teacher and coach), motivated me to pursue teaching.
WHAT SHAPED ME
Being diagnosed with a heart condition at 23 changed my perspective on life and the privilege of filling up my “cup” daily.
WHY SYV FAMILY SCHOOL
I love the tight-knit community and the privilege of watching students grow while enjoying the fresh air and outdoors.
IN MY CLASSROOM
Students learn that insecurity can be met with kindness and support.
FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK
Walter the Farting Dog – A reminder to take people as they are.
OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
I enjoy time with my own “farting dog,” preferably outdoors on the Gaviota Coast or Los Padres National Forest.
