Maribel Mejia
Blue Door Assistant Teacher
I have experience working with children in a classroom setting, especially elementary grades, where most of the time was spent in kindergarten. I’m dedicated to learning new things as an educator to help our students grow and succeed. I plan to return back to college in the future to earn my degree in Early Childhood Education.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SYVFS
Everything I’ve heard about this wonderful school has been amazing, and I’m so excited to be part of such a caring and inspiring community. I love how we are surrounded by nature, which I believe is so good for our well-being and for our students' growth.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I do what I do because I believe every child deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and inspired as they learn and grow.
MY FAVORITE TEACHING MOMENT
One of my favorite teaching moments is when a student's face lights up when they finally understand a concept we've been working on. Being part of that moment and watching their confidence grow is so rewarding.
OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL
Outside of school, I enjoy being creative through crafting. I love spending time with my family, exploring new coffee shops, going on walks, and visiting Disneyland with my fiancé whenever we get the chance.
FUN FACT
I love buying cute mugs, and sometimes I don't even use them for coffee. I just fill them with pens and enjoy how they brighten up my desk space!
FAVORITE PLACE ON CAMPUS
Blue Door, I know it will be my happy place with my co-teachers and our students.
FAVORITE TRADITION
I’m new to the school, but I've heard wonderful things about the traditions here. I'm really excited to learn about them and be a part of them!
WE LOVE READING! A FAVORITE BOOK I LOVE:
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie By Laura Joffe Numeroff
